Privacy Policy

MP3SoundCloud is built to collect as little as possible. You can convert SoundCloud to MP3 without an account, and we only keep what we need to run the service and your Supporter pass. This page explains exactly what that is.

Who we are

MP3SoundCloud (mp3soundcloud.com) is an independent online tool for saving publicly available SoundCloud audio as MP3, WAV or FLAC files. We are not connected to SoundCloud.

For any privacy question, you can reach us at [email protected].

Information we collect

What we handle depends on how you use the site:

  • Links you paste: the SoundCloud address you submit is sent to our server so we can fetch the public stream and prepare your file. We do not build a history of the links you convert.
  • Technical data: like almost every website, our servers receive your IP address and basic browser details with each request. We use the IP address briefly to limit abuse, such as too many requests in a short time.
  • Supporter data: if you buy a pass, we store the email address you paid with on Ko-fi, your pass status, its expiry date and a short-lived login code while you sign in.
  • Messages: if you email us, we keep your message and address so we can reply.

Files and audio

Audio is processed on the fly and sent straight to your browser. We do not keep a library of the songs you download, and we do not store the files after your download finishes.

Cookies and local storage

We keep cookies to a minimum:

  • A sign-in cookie (sc_vip_session) that keeps Supporters signed in for up to 30 days.
  • Session storage that remembers your Supporter status for a few minutes, so the page does not have to check it on every click.
  • Local storage that counts your recent downloads for the stats on your account page. This stays in your own browser and is never sent to us.
  • Analytics cookies set by Google Analytics, described below.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand which pages people visit and how the SoundCloud downloader performs. Google Analytics collects usage data such as pages viewed, device type and approximate location. You can block it with a browser extension or by using the opt-out tool Google provides.

06 /

Payments

Supporter passes are sold through Ko-fi. Ko-fi and its payment partners process your payment, and we never see or store your card details. Ko-fi sends us the email address and amount of your purchase so we can switch your pass on.

Services we rely on

To run MP3SoundCloud we use a small number of trusted providers: hosting for the website, a database provider for Supporter accounts, an email provider to deliver login codes, Ko-fi for payments and Google Analytics for statistics. They only receive the data they need to do their job.

08 /

How long we keep data

Login codes expire within minutes. Supporter records are kept while your pass is active and for a reasonable time afterwards, so renewals and support requests work. Rate limit data is held in memory and cleared automatically. You can ask us to delete your Supporter record at any time.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, or to object to how it is used. Email [email protected] and we will help. We may ask you to confirm you own the email address first.

Children

MP3SoundCloud is not aimed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will remove it.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle data, we will update this page and the date at the top. Significant changes will be highlighted on the site.
